Dinners in the Field
Now in our seventh season, the 2011 Dinners in the Field take place Saturday evenings. Tables are set with linens, china, and glassware under tents on the banks of the Connecticut River. A favorite summer farm event!
These popular dinners often feature a guest chef or food producer, and freshly harvested and prepared foods from the farm, served in a beautiful and tranquil setting in the company of friends and neighbors. Guests are welcome to bring a beverage to accompany our complimentary tea and coffee selection.

Farm Managers Will Allen and Kate Duesterberg’s love for excellent food extends well beyond their creation and management of Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center. Get a taste of their passion with this elaborate farm-grown Mexican dinner featuring Will’s famous chile rellenos, spicy salsa, locally raised meat, and more. It takes them days to carefully prepare this amazing feast. Guests are welcome to bring a beverage to accompany our complimentary tea and coffee selection.$60/person minimum. Limited seating.

3rd Annual Tomato Tasting by the River
Join us for a casual afternoon of celebration and music during which we’ll honor the heirloom tomato and the commitment that generations of farmers and gardeners have provided us in preserving the biological and cultural diversity of the fruit through seed saving.
Annual Tomato Tasting postponed until Saturday, August 27 from 2-4 If you have already signed up, you should have received an email from us. We hope you can still come on the 27th. By then we’ll have an abundance of gorgeous and tasty heirloom tomatoes to celebrate with.
Limited seating, advance registration. $25/person; children under 12 $15/person
- Takes place in our fields along the banks of the beautiful Connecticut River, under a tent in case of rain
- Special guest Ben Watson from New Hampshire, author of Taylor’s Guide to Heirloom Vegetables, Senior Editor at Chelsea Green Publishing, and the co-chair of the Slow Food USA Biodiversity Committee will talk about heirloom tomatoes and the Slow Food movement.
- A rainbow of fresh-picked organically grown heirloom tomatoes in the raw for sampling
- Take home the flavors of the Tomato Tasting from our exclusive farmers’ market featuring an exclusive cash only farmers market featuring Farm Chef Alison’s special tomato preserves, flavored oils, vinegars, and more (accepting cash or checks)
- A selection of delicious farm-made tomato appetizers to taste created on the farm by Cedar Circle Farm Chef Alison Baker and Justin Barrett of Piecemeal catering:
Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad, Chilled Tomato & Coconut Soup, Goat Cheese Bruschetta with Our Tomato Chili Jam, Pesto Bruschetta with Our Rosemary Oil and Rex Romano Cheese, Will’s Famous Salsa & Tortilla Chips, Sparkling Tomato Water with Lemongrass & Ginger- Live music by the The Rev. Stovepipe Band, a six-piece group from Corinth, Vermont—folk, blues, and Americana acoustic music.
