Megan Baxter, field crew manager
Megan Baxter first came to the farm as a child, to pick berries with her family. Fittingly, her first job here would be picking strawberries for Cedar Circle in 2002.
Since then, she has become an integral part of the farm. Megan is now responsible for the hectic tasks of coordinating all berry harvesting, and managing our three farmers’ markets. She has become a specialist in heirloom tomatoes, and is the keystone of our annual tomato tasting. Megan sets her goals high on the farm, including developing her own heirloom tomato hybrid.
Megan has been a force in accomplishing our food-safety goals on the farm. She runs our prospective employee orientation program, and is the constant presence in maintaining employee wellness.
Megan has the energy not only to pick, pack, and weed, but also to contribute a vibrant spirit to the whole of the farm. She directs the seed starting of our field crops, as well as orders and inventory. Megan has also been a leader in the evolution of our recordkeeping systems.
Megan earned a BFA in creative writing from Goddard College in 2010. She has shared her skills at the farm, by hosting weekly writing workshops here. Megan hopes to one day live on her own farm and publish her poetry.
